Here is a reminder as posted on the Humboldt County Commission Agenda concerning the proposed Jungo Landfill and the appeal of the 5 year extension of the CUP.

1:30 p.m.
Public Hearing on an appeal filed by Robert E. Dolan and Massey K. Mayo regarding the vote, decision and findings by the Humboldt County Regional Planning Commission at their February 11, 2010 meeting regarding the five year extension of the Conditional Use permit UH-07-05 submitted by Jungo Land and Investment, Inc. to allow them to develop a long term solid waste disposal site approximately 25 miles west of Winnemucca in Desert Valley off Jungo Road; assessor’s parcel #005-411-07 – Discussion and Action

A strange thing happened when trying to view the agenda documents for this segment of the meeting. The links did not work – Here is what you should have been able to access:
copy of notifications.pdf
Notice of Public Hearing.pdf
RPC minutes.pdf
Appeal of RPC Vote Decision Findings.pdf
Jungo – 2-24-10 corres.pdf
Memo – Interested Party (1).pdf
DA’s Memo.pdf
McDonald Carrano Wilson letter.pdf
frankovitch re fransway recuse.pdf
Recusal Memo.pdf

The requests to recuse Councilman Fransway is interesting in so much as others on the commission have made public statements early on in this process (i.e., “It is a done deal”) If Fransway goes, anyone on the board who has expressed support for the Jungo Landfill project should go as well. So long fellas!

Look at the links below to see some of the behind the scenes activity surrounding this process:

The Big Boys start pulling the strings – and look who jumps. March 29, 2010

Russell Smith asks original date be vacated (could this be obstruction?) March 3, 2010

District Attorney Russell Smith requests to have Tom Fransway recused from the hearing April 2, 2010

Click on the links below to go to the published agenda and try and link to the documents noted above.

The meeting will be held at the Humboldt County Courthouse, Room 201, April 5 at 1:30 PM.

  1. Because Commissioner Fransway represents his constituents and is not a fence sitting politician, Recology is trying to stack the deck in their favor and have him thrown off the board when it has to do with anything that involves them. NICE. Just the kind of good business neighbor I want in my community. How about you?
